Course Requirements

The Harley-Davidson® Riding Academy New Rider Course follows the strict guidelines of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF). To ensure our students are learning to ride in a safe and effective environment, you will be required to abide by a proper riding dress code. These requirements are not negotiable. Our course is structured to give you the time to properly equip yourself with the necessary gear before range-riding exercise takes place.

To take the Harley-Davidson® Riding Academy New Rider Course, you will need the following items:

  • Jeans
  • Sturdy, over-the-ankle boots or shoes
  • Protective eyewear
  • A heavy, long-sleeved shirt or jacket
  • To know how to ride a bicycle
  • A helmet that meets DOT specifications
  • Full-fingered motorcycle gloves
  • A valid automobile driver’s license or learner’s permit
